Chad Brackman Family Donation
47-year-old Lt. Chad Brackman, a 22-year veteran with MCSO, was hit while out of his car and working traffic control off duty. “The impact was so severe that although he was transported here to Scottsdale Osborn (Medical Center) where they did everything within their powers to try to save his life, it was unsuccessful,” Sheriff Paul Penzone said.
The driver that struck Brackman was hurt in the crash and sent to the hospital, according to Scottsdale’s chief of police. The identity of the driver has not been released.
Brackman leaves behind a wife, two children, two stepchildren and a very big family, whom Penzone says are now heading to Arizona from out of state. “As always the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the men and women will stand strong and stand tall, and although we will feel this very deeply and suffer from it, we will not be broken, but we will mourn heavily the loss of our friend and family member,” Penzone said.
