Please join us to remember Officer Bob Martin and help clean up a stretch of SR-87 (Beeline Hwy).

The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2017.  We request you arrive between 0900 and 0945 hours. Everyone should be on-site at the staging area, at the Fort McDowell Casino Parking lot, by 0930 hours so that we can have a briefing. We usually see 40-50 participants, but we’d like to see more if you’re able to join us. Transportation will be provided to a location on the SB side of SR-87 (Beeline Highway), where the cleanup will commence at 1000 hours. ADOT will be on the scene providing assistance with a right lane closure and trash pickup of large items and trash bags.
Everyone should be done about 1230 or 1300 hours.
The cleanup will end at the Robert K. Martin #474 Memorial at SB SR-87, MP-195. We will have a short ceremony and remembrance to Bob, who was shot and killed in the line of duty at that spot, during a traffic stop, on August 15th. 1995.
Please Note:  Wear thick strong footwear, no flip flops. sunscreen and hats are recommended. Wear jeans, no shorts. Gloves are recommended, as are something like a grabber to pick up trash. Trash bags will be provided. Food and drinks will be provided, at the halfway point, by the Arizona State Troopers Association and W. Steven Martin’s 911 Support Toy Drive and Memorials.
