If you’re a current/retired or reserve DPS (Arizona Department of Public Safety) Employee or just an everday citizen and you’d like to become a member of the only association directly responsible for Arizona State Troopers and DPS, then start by choosing which membership applies to you and fill out our online application form or you can reach us directly using the email form at the bottom of this page.
Sworn
- Eligibility – Full time sworn employee of the Department of Public Safety
- May vote on issues
- Hold any elected office
- May chair a committee
- All benefits, including civil & criminal legal coverage
Civilian
- Eligibility – Full time non-sworn employee of the Department of Public Safety
- May vote on issues
- Can not hold any elected office
- May not chair a committee
- All benefits, except criminal legal coverage (available as an add-on option)
Retired
- Eligibility – Retired employee of the Department of Public Safety
- May vote on issues
- Can not hold any elected office
- May not chair a committee

Membership Details
SWORN MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
SURVIVOR BENEFIT
$20,000.00 to your beneficiaries in the event of your death.
CELLULAR PHONE SERVICE PACKAGES
Because of our relationships with Verizon Wireless, AZTroopers members are able to take advantage of plans offered exclusively to our association (usually 22% cheaper than a normal personal plan). COVERAGE BY LEGAL DEFENSE FUND
This state association administers the Legal Defense Fund and assists the AZTroopers in fighting for issues concerning our members at the state levels of government.
AUTO/RV AND HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE
California Casualty offers members competitive rates on insurance for auto and home.
The association offers SEVEN ($2000.00) scholarships and 4 ($1000.00) per year of a dependent child of an AZTroopers member. Click here for more info and to see our last group of winners.
CABIN AND CAMPING FACILITIES
The association owns a cabin located on the Mogollon Rim east of Payson. The cabin is available to our members for a nominal rental fee.
TWENTY-YEAR SERVICE RING
All association members are eligible* to receive a 20-year service ring provided at no cost to the member.
*20 years in the retirement system and the last 15 years as a member of AZTroopers .
