An officer with the Pomona (CA) Police Department has decided to retire—after more than 50 years on the job.

Ron McDonald passed the 50-year milestone in 2015, but has decided in 2018 that it’s finally time to stop working.

According to the Daily Bulletin, McDonald has stayed with the same department for the duration of his career, serving in patrol, major narcotics, detective bureau, helicopter observer, and special operations.

In retirement, he expects to travel a bit and spend more time with his son in Palm Springs and daughter in Sacramento.
