A King County, WA, deputy shot and wounded a man who was armed with a rifle during a domestic disturbance Tuesday morning in Enumclaw.
The drama unfolded about 4 a.m. as deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance involving a man and a woman at a home.
Deputies arrived and asked the dispatcher to tell the woman to come outside with her children. She and her two children came out.
The man turned off the lights in the house.
One deputy was wearing night-vision goggles and spotted a man with a rifle approaching them stealthily in the predawn darkness outside the home.
The deputies ordered the man several times to drop the rifle, but he refused. The suspect was shot and seriously wounded. He is expected to survive, KOMO TV reports.
