Navajo County, Ariz. — On March 17, 2018, the Route 66 DUI Task Force, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS), will be conducting a DUI enforcement detail in northern Navajo County and eastern Coconino County. The operation will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. in the Winslow and Holbrook area. The detail is run in conjunction with several high-profile public events which are taking place over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
In addition to AZDPS, law enforcement officers from the Winslow Police Department, Holbrook Police Department and the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the detail. They will be patrolling the local streets, highways and interstate with the goal of detecting and preventing impaired driving.
AZDPS Captain Gary Phelps said, “Through our team effort with partner agencies we have a greater impact on impaired driving in northeastern Arizona. The Route 66 DUI Task Force is here to tell you, ‘If you booze and cruise – you lose.’”
