FORT WORTH, Texas — A north Texas public safety department is getting attention for its “Love Actually” inspired safety video.
On Tuesday, the Southlake Department of Public Safety tweeted a video that reminded drivers to stay safe this holiday using scenes from the movie “Love Actually.”
The video shows Keira Knightley’s character answering the door to a Southlake police officer. The officer shows her written messages that remind viewers to drive safe and sober this holiday season.
At one point, the officer even reprimands Knightley for laughing after he reminds her to drive the speed limit on a busy road.
The video was viewed more than 8,500 times on Twitter by 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = ‘https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v3.2’; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’)); SAFETY AND LOVE ACTUALLY ARE ALL AROUND!
“If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that safety and love actually are all around.” That’s an actual quote from the movie, we think. Fair citizens, please think twice about drinking and driving and speeding this holiday season. We care about you, and we want you and your family to have a safe and merry Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year. We will be here for you, working every day and every night to keep you safe. #DriveSoberorGetPulledOver #ProtectSouthlake #ProtectYou Love Actually Andrew Lincoln #KeiraKnightley
