A sergeant with the Fort Worth (TX) Police Department shot an assailant armed with an edged weapon who threatened him and two other officers, according to NBC News.

The officers were responding to a call that a man inside a home there was acting erratically and tearing up a bed.

The man—whose name has not been released—was transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

None of the officers were injured.
