CAMPBELL, Calif. — A suspect is now in police custody after an 11-hour standoff at a Denny’s.
The incident occurred after police responded to a report of a person with a gun inside the restaurant, NBC Bay Area reports.
The armed suspect had confronted a worker in the parking lot of the Denny’s. After the confrontation, the suspect went inside the restaurant where he stayed until police were able to detain him. Officers were able to safely evacuate people inside the restaurant.
After an 11-hour standoff, a hostage negotiation team helped get the suspect out safely.
The suspect surrendered and no injuries have been reported.
