GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC — Police have released video and 911 calls of a deadly officer-involved shooting that occurred last month.
According to local news station WSPA, 34-year-old Jermaine Robinson was fatally shot after police say he shot a woman inside a trailer home and aimed a gun at officers on Feb. 10.
In the footage released Monday, Robinson can be heard making a 911 call to report he was poisoned. Responding officers heard Robinson say that he had a gun before hearing a single gunshot from inside the trailer. The deputies took cover and called for backup.
In the video, Robinson can be seen exiting the trailer and is repeatedly asked to show his hands and stop moving by police.
Video shows Robinson fire two rounds in the air and yell at police to shoot and kill him. Moments later, he turns towards police and points the gun in their direction.
That’s when officers opened fire in defense. Robinson died at the scene.
The woman shot inside the trailer was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. No officers were injured.
