Home

Our new home page is modernized and simplified to give you just what you’re looking for. It describes our association and it’s story. There is a news widget to the right of the screen that allows you to quickly grasp the most current articles and navigate them right on that first page. As you scroll down you’ll see images of different positions and responsibilities held by both our sworn and civilian members. You’ll see quotes from Arizona politicians, leaders, and business partners that speak to our credibility and character. We give you a few statistics about our association and finally display a letter from our current president.

If you look at the menu on the top of the screen, you’ll notice a much more simplified menu to get you to exactly what you’re looking for. There are seven main options and we’ll discuss each of them in these tutorials. You’ll also notice the floating social media bar to the left of the screen. It can be turned off if you don’t want to see it, but it allows you to share any content you see on our website instantly to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+. It also has a counter to show you how many times each page or post has been shared previously.

You’ll also notice at the top of the screen you can see our contact information, (toll free phone and email) as well as our social media links and RSS feed information.

We hope you like what you see! We’ve included a contact form at the bottom of this page for you to be able to send us any suggestions for improvement you may have.

News

This section of our site allows you to quickly catch up on any news happening with our association or the department with ease. You can quickly see the eight most recent articles on a single screen and page through them eight at a time using the navigation buttons on the bottom.

By clicking on any of the articles you are taken to a full page version where you can read in detail about that subject and still be able to navigate between articles one at a time.

You’ll also notice the side bar on this and article detail pages. It allows you to view how many people are currently following us on Facebook and Twitter and quickly follow us yourself by clicking on either button. We recommend doing this to make sure you stay up to date on the latest happenings with AZTroopers.

Below the social media section of the sidebar, you’ll see our ‘Other News’ tabs. These allow you to view news from other popular news sites relevant to our members or supporters such as DPS (Department of Public Safety), PoliceOne, NIJ (National Institute of Justice), PoliceMag (Police Magazine, and Officer (Magazine).

Finally, you’ll see our sign up form for our mailing list. If you haven’t already done so, please join to receive updated information about us, our charitable events, raffles, and other news and information.

Membership

This page describes what membership in AZTroopers entails as well as all of the great benefits you can make use of as a member. It describes all of the different types of membership and what makes them special. We’ve listed most of the benefits along with links to provider websites for additional details should you want more information. There is a wealth of knowledge on this page should you decide to go through it.

You’ll see unmatched legal and insurance benefits no one else has. It includes a cabin for personal use at very low rates, cellular plans, our quarterly magazine, and much more. You’ll see discounted services and offers from our partners, as well as a slew of other opportunities.

We’ve included contact information from our membership director for you if you have additional questions and included an email form at the bottom to make it more convenient for you.

Finally, near the bottom of this page you’ll find an online application where, given your eligibility, you can apply right from our website and download all of the necessary info to complete your membership without the hassle of previous times and paper handling. As soon as you complete the application, our membership director will reach out to you and help finalize the process.

Obviously, we’re very proud of our organization and our department and we’d love to welcome you to AZTroopers as a full fledged member. We believe we have the best association and we know we’re the only association dedicated solely to AZ DPS and its employees.

Giving Back

AZTroopers Charities does an immense amount of work in our communities and with partner charitable organizations. This page helps us to explain to our supporters just how much they mean to us and describes all of the different things we do.

You’ll see the rotating images of just some of our events and participations. We’ve also included a ‘Donate Now!’ button to allow people that can’t attend our events or volunteer as they’d like, to continue to support our charitable functions by donating to them directly. It includes both a one time donations and continuing contributions through direct debit capability.

We’ve listed just a few of the greatest partnerships we have and organizations that we support such as Special Olympics, Cops (Concerns of Police Survivors), the 100 Club, and more.

You’ll see a section on our annual scholarships program and all of the information needed to see how it works and who is eligible. You can view our most recent winners and see why they are so deserving of this opportunity. You can also apply online and be walked through the entire process.

Finally, we’ve included information about our annual raffle and how it benefits all of our charitable work. We’re working diligently to allow people to participate in the raffle through the website as well to make it easier for our supporters and to reach out to more people.

Our History

This page tells the wonderful story of our association and department through photographs taken since it’s inception. We have a rich history of distinction including the hard work and dedication of both our sworn and civilian members. It gives us the opportunity to show everyone what DPS and AZTroopers is all about and how we’ve contributed to the history and safety of the great state of Arizona. It includes approximately 300 photographs and we’ll not only be adding more, but we’re working on getting small descriptions of each to further tell the story.

This is our way of honoring all of those that came before us and recognizing all of the retirees that are still members today.

In Memoriam

We will never forget the ultimate sacrifices made by those that came before us. This page is a constant reminder of those that paid the price for our safety. We remember them here with a virtual wall showing each of them from the first to the most current.

You’ll see a section dedicated to the fallen officer memorial at DPS headquarters that AZTroopers members worked tirelessly to bring about. We also have a video tribute produced by DPS of our 2015 service to show you what happens each year as we honor their lives.

Finally, at the bottom of the page, you’ll see the virtual wall with each fallen officers photo, name, badge number and End of Watch date. If you click on any of them you’ll be sent to a more detailed description of the circumstances of their passing. We’re also working hard to expand on these pages and add more imagery and stories to honor these officers.
