The off-duty Minnesota officer who stopped a man on a stabbing rampage in St. Cloud’s Crossroads Center mall will be honored with the Congressional Badge of Bravery on Thursday.

Avon officer Jason Falconer shot and killed Dahir Adan in September of 2016. Adan had stabbed 10 people in the mall and advanced on Falconer.

“Falconer saved countless lives after taking down an attacker in a St. Cloud mall,” according to Wednesday announcement of Falconer’s award from U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer’s office.

Emmer and U.S. Sens. Amy Klobucher and Tina Smith will honor Falconer Thursday in St. Cloud, the St. Cloud Times reports.
