State Troopers all across Arizona participated in special enforcement activities to help make the Memorial Day Holiday travel safer. 

 

Starting on May 24th, through May 29th, troopers participated in locating and arresting those with outstanding DUI warrants.

Troopers, statewide, arrested the following:

  • 17 Felony DUI warrant arrests
  • 113 Misdemeanor DUI warrant arrests
  • 10 additional warrant (non-DUI) arrests

 

During the warrant detail troopers also made:

  • 5 DUI arrests
  • 4 drug arrests
  • 1 weapons misconduct arrest
  • 1 stolen weapon arrest

 

State Troopers participated in a variety of details ranging from special DUI details to collision reduction, speed enforcement, reckless, distracted driving, and seat belt use details.

 

 

These are the results of the trooper’s activities:

  • 8,078 contacts
  • 99 DUI arrests
    • 77 impaired by alcohol
    • 22 impaired by drugs

 

 

Of those 99 DUI arrests:

  • 86 were misdemeanor DUI arrests
  • 13 were felony DUI arrests
  • 13 drivers were extreme DUI
  • 7 were minors under the age of 21
  • 4 minors cited for minor consumption of alcohol

 

 

For traffic enforcement:

  • 147 30-day impounds
  • 522 seat belt citations
  • 90 child restraint citations
  • 201 criminal speed citations
  • 2,139 civil speed citations
  • 1 reckless driving citation
