Since the first of the year there have been 62 police
Officers killed in the line of duty nationally.Ā  Six
Officers have died since the last meeting.

Four were killed by gunfire (1) Accidental
Two were killed in automobile collisions

A MOMENT OF SILENCE WAS HELD
Motion made Pete Sadler, seconded by Pat Eagan for the
Consent Agenda.Ā  Motion voted and passed.

ASSOCIATION BOARD CHANGE:
Due to District 11 Representative Bob Gilbert being transferred,
Officer Bert Chaney #670 will be the new representive.Ā  Motion
made by Bob Gilbert, seconded by Bev Fuller to seat Bert Chaney.
Motion Passed.

ASSOCIATION BUDGET 2006-2007:
Treasurer Dave Schroder presented to the Board the 2006-2007
Budget.Ā  Total revenue projected is $647,980.00Ā  Total expenses
Projected $633,807.00.Ā  Net income $ 14,173.00

STATE BUDGET:
President Swann advised that due to the latest budget plan submitted to the Governor being vetoed, if a new State budget is not passed by July 1, the pay for sworn officers will not go into effect.Ā  When the budget does become law, the pay will be back paid to July 1.Ā  Before the pay plan can go into effect, it must be passed by the JLBC (Joint Legislative Budget Committee).

President Swann stated that $700,000.00 marked for civilian pay will be placed as a trigger in the State budget. (A trigger is where if a certain amount of the total state revenue received by the state exceeds what was expected; this extra revenue trips triggers that were placed in the budget allowing them to be paid for).Ā  Senator Jack Harper is working with President Swann on this trigger placement.

LEGAL REPORT:
Greg Robinson re-addressed the board on flyers/mailers
received from Robert Morse(Home Mortgage)using officerā€™s home addresses.Ā  Greg stated he mailed a letter to them and the letter was returned due to the address listed not being correct.Ā  Greg asked if anyone receives a new flyer, contact him so he can address this issue.

President Swann advised that a meeting is being set up with Greg, Abel & Marti, and him to address the cabin contact.

LIFE INSURANCE UPDATE:
Executive Vice President Jimmy Chavez & Pat Madden gave a update on the
Life Insurance coverage offered to the membership.Ā  The coverage we have now expires July 1.Ā  The cost of the same policy is going up
13%.Ā  We are paying AD & D coverage .045 per $1000.00.Ā  CIGNA has the same coverage for .04 per $1000.00.Ā  If we keep the same coverage as we have now, the cost increase would be $400.00 per month.Ā  For the same amount of money we would have to change the coverage from $10,000.00 to
$8,500.00

20 ā€“ YEAR RING:
President Swann presented a 20-year ring to Celina Gonzales.Ā  Pete Sadler presented to Steve Davis #3316 his 20-year ring. (Due to a family emergency Steve could not attend the meeting).
