Phoenix — In another stride to keep the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) a national model in providing customer-oriented, state-level law enforcement services, Col. Frank Milstead has initiated an update to the agency’s licensing webpage at azdps.gov/licensing
Now implemented on the licensing section webpage, is the “Apply Online” tab. This new feature allows Arizona applicants to immediately submit a Security Guard, Security Guard Trainers, Private Investigator Registration or License Application. The new page aims to be user-friendly, so the agency’s Licensing Unit can provide quick and pertinent information to the customer during the application process.
The old method required applications to be mailed or hand delivered to AZDPS.
AZDPS regulates security guard, security agency, private investigator and private investigative agency licensing. Additionally, the unit accepts complaints from the public and enforces statutory laws and administrative rules pertaining to those entities.
Lt. Col. Timothy Chung, who oversees the Licensing Unit is excited to present the new section to the public, “The new Licensing section of the Department’s website is another great example of how we are working tirelessly towards Col. Milstead’s vision of being the national model of excellence, from our law enforcement efforts on the streets to the customer-centric website. The addition of applying online, as well as the overall revamp of the section, will not only provide the citizens of Arizona with additional benefits on the Licensing Unit’s section, but will also save them their invaluable time with easier to find content better pertaining to their needs.”
“Our mission within the Licensing Unit is to efficiently assist our customers with their licensing needs,” says Ana Velarde, manager of the Licensing and Regulatory Bureau. “The Licensing section of the website is a one-stop shop that includes all forms and documents needed, an option to check the status of your license and the newly implemented apply online feature.”
