A search is ongoing for at least four suspects after a Cherry Hills Village, CO, police officer was shot and wounded while responding to a home invasion robbery.
Officer Cory Sack was shot in the ankle and leg in a confrontation with the robbery suspects. He is recovering at the hospital. He went into surgery early Tuesday morning and is expected to make a full recovery, CBS Denver reports.
Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call at the home at 11 p.m. Sack responded and when he entered the home, he came across two intruders. Gunfire was exchanged and Sack was wounded but was able to get out of the line of fire. No residents of the home were hurt, although they were in the home at the time.
The suspects escaped. A manhunt is underway.
