California Police Chief Cancels Charity Event for Fallen Officer

Thousand Oaks Police Chief Tim Hagel has postponed indefinitely—effectively, canceled—a planned charity event intended to raise money for the family of Sergeant Ron Helus of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, who was among the 13 people killed at the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks in November 2018.
