Today, the Arizona Police Association announced its endorsement of Senator Jon Kyl in his reelection for U.S. Senate. The Arizona Police Association is a statewide police group comprised on 6,000 members from 18 independent federal, state, county and local law enforcement associations.
Arizona Police Association Vice President Andy Swann stated, “We are proud of this endorsement and the fact that we have endorsed the Senator in each of his senate campaigns. We throw our support behind Senator Kyl after considering his strong law enforcement record in Washington, D.C.”
Senator Kyl has fought for funds that have assisted state and local agencies in their fights against sex crimes against children, methamphetamine, child pornography, and violent crimes. He has further assisted in acquiring funds for national sex offender registration and DNA testing technologies.
Recently, Senator Kyl has recognized the problems caused to state, county and local law enforcement by the influx of criminal aliens and the related crimes. He also recognizes that without the cooperation and resources of the federal government, state and local police have little power to deal with these issues.
Andy Swann concluded his comments by stating, “Again, as we have before, we ask the citizens of Arizona to support Senator Jon Kyl and send him back to Washington where he has been a true friend to the men and women of law enforcement.”
