The Miami Herald reports that two men face attempted murder charges after they attempted to impale a pursuing officer with a tow truck “in order to facilitate their escape,” according to one officer’s arrest report.
An officer wrote in an arrest report that the subjects “intentionally lowered the boom of the tow truck…placed the tow truck in reverse, accelerated at a high rate of speed and struck the police vehicle.”
Fortunately, the officer was not injured in the incident.
The men now face charges of “resisting an officer without violence, fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, grand theft and violating probation,” the Herald report said. Aguirre also faces charges of grand theft and resisting arrest without violence.
