ELK GROVE, Calif. — Many residents call their police departments to report complaints or concerns, but one local called the Elk Grove Police Department Oct. 23 to report something more heartwarming.
According to KTVU, Officer Meyerdick and Officer Freitas saw an elderly man struggling with yard work and decided to help. The officers helped the 82-year-old clear tree limbs and shrubs from his yard until the work was complete.
A witness to the act of kindness called the department with the uplifting report.
“We are grateful for the community member calling us and for our officers jumping in to assist our community member,” the departement wrote in a Facebook post.
