On May 1, 2017, the Arizona Department of Public Safety honored its 29 fallen officers. The event was attended by the Governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey, who gave profound, heartfelt speech to those in attendance.
Chaplain Samuel Jeppsen gave the Invocation, followed by Sgt. Jimmy Chavez, the Arizona State Troopers Association President, with the opening comments.
Following the speeches from Gov. Ducey and Col. Milstead, each fallen officer was named and a rose was placed on the memorial wall by surviving family members, accompanied by the DPS Honor Guard.
The memorial was hosted by the Arizona State Troopers Association.
